Rooted and Restored was an unforgettable experience that resonated with me in so many ways. I was inspired, I gained courage, and I learned to accept a softer, more easeful version of myself that I often shame because I feel as though she’s lazy or not good enough. While I know that it’s going to take time to put all I learned into practice, I’m thankful that I have the tools and even more thankful that I know I’m not alone in feeling guilty for choosing myself, instead of everything else that pulls on me.
I have learned to prioritize rest. I didn't realize how much rest (not just sleeping) but actively making time to rest my mind, my body, and my spirit would benefit me. I used to think laying down was being lazy, now I see how just taking 20-30 minutes to rest after work or leaving the dishes until the morning can really help me feel more grounded and less anxious.
The one-on-one sessions were even more tailored... everybody's path is different. Everybody's history is different. And I love a one-on-one session because it is tailored to what is it that you need right now. And that's what I got out of that.
